day 9 NOVEMBER
God commanded that you must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land you will possess.
Every commandment of God is important especially if You want to receive all the blessings of God.
Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’
Honor to parents comes with a promise and a curse.
The Bible advises that parents should train up a child in the right path so that the right value will take root in their life.
“When children are just growing they can be molded early in life with the help of God to have respect for God and their parents but an untrained child; may not see the need to honor parents when he or she matures to adulthood. ”
These days what we see in families is that; rather than unite and prayerfully fight the external enemies; families now fight one another because children chose to disobey parents.
For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the members of his own household.
This is ought not to be so but it is happening because children only have a form of godliness but rejects its power; for their conduct does not show they ever surrendered their life to Christ.
We should prayerfully fight this trend so that the godly family value system does not become extinct.
When God commanded that children should honor parents it is more for their good than for Him. In honoring them they are expected to care for and support them.

The more children care for parents the more the parents also do their best to ensure that life treats their children well.
Parents are known to stand by their children and this tie becomes even stronger when these children honor them.
We have seen children who in their adult life were struck with strange ailment and they were abandoned by spouses and friends but their parents stood by them nursing them and praying for them.
Some of these parents didn’t find the responsibility easy but they persevered. Many of these children while in good health and blooming with wealth never cared for or invested in their parents.
We all pray never to experience setbacks that will make us dependent again on our parents but remember God’s test comes in ways we never would have envisaged.
The accuser is always looking for faults to discredit us before God; don’t let dishonor to parents be an avenue for the enemy to bring you down.
Children can avoid the dangers of dishonor to parents by watching out for the following:
- Let Christ reign in You and chose to obey God’s command.
- Learn not to disrespect or shout on your parents.
- Don’t lock them up or maltreat them.
- Feed them, don’t abandon them when sickness weigh them down.
- Do not deprive them of their resources.
The above looks trivial but there are children who actually beat their parents up using divine revelation as an excuse. They claim some sort of spirit has revealed that their parents are agents of darkness and for that reason they should be beaten.
May our children not hear or listen to strange voices in Jesus Name.

The disrespect to parents that is prevalent now amongst God’s children is part of the signs of the last days which Apostle Paul warned believers against.
He said for men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy. All these are interwoven; when children are lovers of self they are not concerned about honoring or caring for parents.
If you are a child please pray that God should uphold you to do that which is proper for your parents.
Parents and guardians let us pray that our children and wards will not fall into deception of this end times and if they have already fallen let us pray for their deliverance and restoration. There is nothing God cannot do; he brought home the prodigal child.
May children of the godly not be a source of pain to parents in Jesus Name.

PRAYER PETITIONS
1) Lord deliver our children from the rebellious spirit of the last days. Forgive them and please erase every curse attached to their past rebellion.
2) In any way I have misled my children I pray for your forgiveness. Please guide them to the right path.
3) Lord please reconcile all our children that have gone astray to Yourself and also reconcile all the children with their parents.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) Remove every seed of discord that had been sown in the heart of all our children.
5) By Your mighty hand deliver them from the controlling power of the forces of darkness. Silence every strange voice speaking negatively to their ears.
6) Clothe our children with garment of godliness. Help them to live upright and bring you glory.
Anoint them with power to honor their parents.
LORD May I receive your answer to my prayers in Jesus Name (amen)
