When you keep your eyes on God it means you do read the Bible to know what He has to say to you; it means you make it a habit to talk to God through prayers and you also get a confirmation from Him in your spirit before doing anything. You do also allow your steps to be ordered by Him.
I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.
When God is at our right side we will not lack anything for He will be our guide, friend, companion, counselor, and defender. Above all He gives us dominion for we are never alone when He is with us.
God wants us to trust and look up to Him because He is able to do all things for those that fear Him.
“When you trust God you must look up to Him in time of peace and in time of challenges”
God protects His children “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. You need to taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
We can taste the goodness of God by believing in His Son Jesus Christ and the completed work of salvation on the cross of Calvary. It is good to read God’s promises but you need to believe them and by faith see them being fulfilled in your life.

The fact that you have resolved to put your trust in God does not eliminate troubles from your path. But when trouble comes: call on God; He will give you the strength to pull through.
Jesus warned that the road will be bumpy because of tribulations but at the same time He encouraged us to be at peace because He has conquered it all for us.
God also has a message for you when you face great challenges and your heart is shaken with fear:
God says to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; I will come with vengeance; with divine retribution I will come to save you. No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.
PSALMS 16:8
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalms 16:8 (NIV)
With all these assurances from God you should not be a slave to fear

Fear is a weapon satan uses to scare the children of God that have a fearful spirit.
If you give in to fear you will not be in the right frame of mind to follow the command of God.
King Saul had a fearful heart and it cost him the throne. He was so afraid of losing the loyalty of his people; that he opted to disobey God’s instruction instead.
When Samuel confronted him; his excuse was “When I saw that the troops were deserting me, and that you did not come at the appointed time and the Philistines were gathering at Michmash, I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will descend upon me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the LORD.’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.”
Fear can cause us to take important decisions without considering the consequence

“You have acted foolishly,” Samuel declared. “You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.
But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought a man after His own heart and appointed him ruler over His people, because you have not kept the command of the LORD.”
Always allow your actions to match your declaration of faith.
Looking up to God means you trust that He has your interest at heart.
So even if you don’t understand why you are going through tests, trials, or hardships remember, GOD knows what He is doing! He knows all the purposes and reasons behind each test, trial or trouble.
And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

You should believe and accept God’s assurance that He is with you and get busy doing His will for your life by pursuing your vision regardless of what comes your way.
There might be times you are confronted with challenges like loss of income, difficulty in settling bills, loss of loved ones; change of position in the Society; threat of sickness due to inadequate nourishment; risk of death through hunger or sickness: you should not be moved to doubt God.
What you need to do is to ask for more grace and be fervent in prayer; adjust your lifestyle; seek help from people that can help you and start afresh with the whatever resource is at your disposal.
Don’t dwell on the past for it will not allow you to see the new direction God is leading you through.

The widow in the Bible during Elisha’s time encountered challenges but unlike King Saul she trusted God by believing the man of God and in obedience she took necessary steps that brought positive change in her life. Learn from her approach to overcome calamities.
She did not dwell on the past or allow it to take away her hope and trust in God. She rose and looked forward by contacting the person she knew could be of help.
- The man of God referred her back to where she was coming from and she obeyed.
- In obedience she started with the small that was available.
- She adjusted to her humbled position and borrowed jars from neighbours.
- She did not despise instruction.
- With hard work and patience things took a better turn in her life.
- She paid her debts and redeemed her sons from slavery.

When you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; acknowledging Him in all your ways He shall direct your paths.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)
We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose. (GNT)
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! (ESV)
PRAYER PETITIONS
1) I pray for cleansing through Jesus Christ. Lord release to me power for holy living so I can always be in your presence. My eyes are on you Lord; don’t let me be shaken or uprooted from where You have placed me. Keep me from all harm and watch over my life.
2) Increase my faith; do not let my heart be troubled or afraid of challenges. Give me heart of gratitude and let me by the leading of the Holy Spirit offer to You an acceptable service with reverence and awe.
3) Lead me away from foolish actions resulting from fear. Please order my coming and going both now and forevermore.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) You are my hiding place protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
5) Lord, You are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high, please answer me from Your holy mountain and sustain me.
6) Deliver me from fear of man and fear of losing financial resources and position in Society. Be my light and my salvation and the stronghold of my life.
LORD May I receive your answer to my prayers in Jesus Name (amen)
