THE WORD OF GOD IS LIFE AND POWER HEBREWS 4:12

day 17 NOVEMBER
God’s word is alive and powerful! It is sharper than any double-edged sword.
His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts.
In the Gospel of John the word of God is revealed to us as Jesus Christ Himself.
By the word of God we are made whole for the word was in existence from the beginning, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. The word came with glory ;
the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

We can experience the glory of Jesus and the life He gives when we hunger and seek for it.
God says for I will pour water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your patched fields. And I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your children.
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
It is only when the Spirit is in you that you can understand the power of the Word and the role of Jesus Christ in your salvation.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing; but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

We need the Holy Spirit to help us understand the word of God.
The LORD says: “My people, I promise to give you my Spirit and my message. These will be my gifts to you and your families forever. I, the LORD, have spoken.”
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on us; the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life” Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

You should not doubt the power of the word of God; believe it and act on it by building on the rock that never fails.
Jesus overcame the devil with the word; speak the word in every situation and you will also overcome if you believe.
“The word of God does not fail and its potency does not diminish; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”
God has promised to help us remember His word “This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My Laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds”.

God spoke the word and the world and all that is in it including you came into existence.
Just as the word has power to create and give life it can also destroy that which is not fit for use.
Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that smashes a rock?
“The word of God is life and power for God’s children but it is death and terror to God’s enemy. Like fire it destroys every impurity but at the same time it purifies that which is pure to make it purer”.
Whoever is living in sin has chosen to become God’s enemy; and is in danger of being crushed by the word of God.
It is good to always be on God’s side for the word of God will always reveal our hidden thoughts and secret sins.
“HEBREWS 4:12"
God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts. Hebrews 4:12 (NCV)
We cannot deceive God for we will reap from whatever we sow

The word of God is death to anyone that is double minded who is not consistent in their service to God.
God says when the righteous people start sinning; all the good they did in the past cannot save them from being punished.
So also when wicked people stop sinning, their past sins will be completely forgiven, and they won’t be punished.
It is therefore better not to fall away from God; we can only be secured when the word of God is in us. “Keep your way pure by guarding it according to the word of God”.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart that I might not sin against you”
PRAYER PETITIONS THE WORD OF GOD S LIFE AND POWER
1)I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Please forgive me for all the time I gave in to my weakness. Restore my by your mercy.
2)With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments.
3) Lord let Your Spirit rest on us; the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of You LORD.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) By Your word make my mountain strong.
5) Let me operate in the power of your word. Let your word speak concerning my situation.
6) Let Your word dwell richly in me and help me to proclaim to sinners the power of Your Word.
LORD May I receive your answer to my prayers in Jesus Name (amen)
