“I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,” declares the Lord GOD.

Daily soul feast
day 26 NOVEMBER
God said my presence will go with you and I will give you rest.
Those who entered His place of rest also rested from their work as God did from His. God’s promise to His children is rest, the same rest He; has entered into.
It is not rest from physical work for we know God is still working; for Jesus told the Jewish leaders: My Father is working until now and I too am working.
God’s rest is spiritual and within us. He has completed all the work that relates to our salvation and spiritual well being.
He perfected everything to guarantee our rest and peace but the choice of accepting His provision or rejecting it is ours to make. Our obedience to His commands and instructions indicates our acceptance of the rest God offers.
“We reject God’s rest when we are disobedient to his commands and this attracts negative consequences.”

Our unrest comes from within the soul because we allowed satan to have a way in our lives.
At the period of our unrest we usually put God in the background trying to get rest by our own human effort. In our desperate search for a solution; we go everywhere looking for help except to God the Author of rest.
We cannot get the rest for our soul that God has prepared for us from any other source.
God’s promise of entering His rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear so that we do not fail to experience it.
For the good news of salvation that God has prepared for our rest is being preached to everyone. It has done some of us good and we should be careful not to lose what we have.

Some other people also heard the good news but it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those of us who listened to God. For only we who believe can enter his rest.
As for the others, God said,
“In my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest,’”
even though this rest has been ready since He made the world. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day:
“On the seventh day God rested from all his work.”
But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.”

You may be asking how do I know for sure that I have entered into God’s rest?
You enter into God’s rest by His grace and by believing and accepting Jesus Christ into your life.
Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
We can only get rest from God and when you in His rest you will know; and you will be able to declare that: Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress I will never be shaken.

God’s giving to us always surpasses our expectations; when we obediently enter into the rest He offers us we will also receive rest from fruitless labour and He will grant us rest in our earthly and physical activities.

For the one who enters God’s rest has also rested from His works, just as God did from His own works. Hebrews 4:10 (NET)

PRAYER PETITIONS
1) Be my rock and my salvation; You are my fortress, do not let me be shaken.
2) Lord I need the rest that comes from you alone. Help me to find rest in You through Jesus Christ
3) Please let Your presence go with me in every step I take; give me rest from things that trouble my heart.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) Teach me to be still before You LORD; to wait patiently for Your promised rest.
5) God You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever; uphold me by your righteous right hand when my flesh and my heart fail.
6) Do not let me labour in vain. Let your Holy Spirit guide me to locate the right and good way; cause me to walk in it; and find rest for my soul.
LORD May I receive your answer to my prayers in Jesus Name (amen)
