TEN IMPORTANT BIBLE VERSES: WHY DID GOD SAVE YOU?
God has a purpose for us all. I congratulate you for responding to God’s offer of salvation. Now that you are saved we should not go back to that which God saved us from. For you not to go back to what God saved you from. you need to know why you were saved and the new assignment God has for you.
1. JOHN 3:16 GOD SAVED YOU BECAUSE HE LOVES UNCONDITIONALLY
- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJV)
The unconditional love of God made Him give His only begotten son to redeem us. He saved you to reciprocate His love and for you to be a channel through which His love will extend to the lost souls.

2. TITUS 3:4-5 GOD SAVED YOU BECAUSE HE IS MERCIFUL

- 4)But when the kindness and love of God our Savior was revealed, he saved us. It was not because of any good deeds that we ourselves had done, 5)but because of his own mercy that he saved us, through the Holy Spirit, who gives us new birth and new life by washing us. (GNT)
The mercy of God located you for salvation. It is God’s nature to be merciful. In the Holy scriptures He says for I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy and loving-kindness on whom I will show mercy and loving-kindness.
God saves you by mercy to show mercy to others. Jesus said blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.
May you always be a recipient of God’s mercy.
PRAYER
Cry out to God to grant you a heart of mercy for soul winning.
Heart that hunger for souls to be won.
Heart that is sacrificial in service giving and discipleship.
3. EZEKIEL 36:26-27 GOD SAVED YOU SO AS TO FOLLOW HIS DECREES
When we were saved God gave us a new spirit. The Holy Spirit that helps us to be in tune with what God wants us to do. His will is for us to preach the good news and bring those outside into His Kingdom.

4) 1 JOHN 3:9 GOD SAVED YOU TO BE FREE FROM SIN
- Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. (NLT)
God put His Spirit and His word in us such that sin becomes detestable to us.
By this God’s children can be distinguished. Those who refuse to do what is right are not God’s children.
5. EPHESIANS 2:10 GOD SAVED YOU FOR GOOD WORKS
- For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (NLT)

6. JEREMIAH 51:20 GOD SAVED AND ENLISTED YOU IN HIS ARMY TO BE HIS BATTLE AX
- “You are my battle-ax and sword,” says the Lord. “With you I will shatter nations and destroy many kingdoms. (NLT)
We are in a spiritual battle and Apostle Paul draws our attention to the fact that it is an invisible war.
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
We are the weapon God uses for the battle. Be spiritually ready for the battle all the time.
7.JOHN 15:8, JOHN 15:16 GOD SAVED YOU TO PRODUCE LASTING FRUITS
- Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. (KJV)
- You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. (NIV)
God did not save us to become idle. He saved us to bear much quality fruit. Are you bearing fruit?
Jesus instructed us to remain in Him, as He also remains in us so that we can produce fruits that will last. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. He will reward us accordingly.
8. HEBREWS 2:14-15 GOD SAVED AND DELIVERED YOU FROM THE FEAR OF DEATH
- 14)Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15)Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. (NLT)
God saved us from the condemnation of death as a result of our being disconnected because of the sin of Adam and Eve. Now that you are saved you have no reason to live in fear of death.
9) 1 JOHN 5:4-5 GOD SAVED YOU TO BE VICTORIOUS
- For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God]. 5)Who is the one who is victorious and overcomes the world? It is the one who believes and recognizes the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. (AMP)
God has saved us to defeat the world. We overcome Satan the lord of this world and all the agents of darkness when we become born again.
10. TITUS 3:6-7, JOHN 11:25 GOD SAVED YOU SO YOU CAN INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE
- God poured a generous amount of the Spirit on us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7)As a result, God in his kindness has given us his approval and we have become heirs who have the confidence that we have everlasting life. (GW)
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. (NKJV)
Because of our union with Christ we have a hope of living forever after the first death.
