EMBRACING AND THRIVING IN THE LOVE OF GOD: JOHN 15:17

day 22 NOVEMBER
We are all product of God’s love. God created us because He loves us. He sent Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins because He loves us and does not want us to be separate; from Him.
Many waters cannot quench the love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
Nothing can stop the love of God for us for He says
behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.
In return we should also set God as a seal upon our heart, as a seal upon our arm. God commanded that we should love Him with all our heart and give no room for any other being or thing to compete with Him in our heart.

The Pharisees were testing Jesus to see if He will give a contrary law: they asked which is the greatest command and Jesus declared;
“’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself”‘
When we embrace the love of God and obey the command to love; we will all thrive and live in unity; the chaos we see all around us will be none existent and we will be at peace.

We see the love also demonstrated by the Eternal Godhead; God said concerning Jesus:
This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.
Jesus said I and my Father we are one; if you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Jesus spoke highly of the Holy Spirit and warn us not to grieve Him.
We should follow the example of the Trinity and love one another.
The love of God will not destroy us. Instead when the love of God is in us we will protect one another; families will not betray one another. Children will not rebel against their parents. Spouses will not fight for supremacy or create enmity among their children.
Love is an attribute of God and He alone can show us how to love; let us follow His leading.

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Let us embrace the love of God which He freely gives to us by keeping His commandment. Jesus says: “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
Jesus prayed for us; that God makes us perfect in unity and love. He instructs us: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.

The characteristic of the love of God to be seen in us; is recorded in the Book of Corinthians.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, Love is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, Love is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

When we embrace and return God’s love; We will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
We will operate in victory, in all circumstances for we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
It is certain that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Let us embrace the love of God by surrendering our life to Jesus Christ and be faithful in our love for God and for every one around us.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
“Do everything in love.”
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
6 Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.
PRAYER PETITIONS
1)Lord thank You for Your great and unconditional love for me. May your love and faithfulness never leave me. Forgive me for not loving and giving You my heart wholly.
2) Holy Spirit please rid my heart of every form of bitterness and anger towards others.
3) Lord, please let me never anger You by treating the love You for me as if it is unimportant.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) Father strengthen my love for you each day and let it influence every step I take.
5) Give me a heart that loves others genuinely and is able to relate with them in unity.
6) Let Your love dwell richly in me and let it flow out to tell the perishing of Your love for them.
LORD May I receive your answer to my prayers in Jesus Name (amen)
