GROWTH OF RABBIT KITTENS
Growth of rabbit kittens at 21 days of age.
Just like everything God created, rabbits are beautiful and wonderfully made by God.
Rabbits are loveable. They are easy to rear by children and the elderly.
If you are a grandparent looking for fun activities with your grandchildren; this might just be it. In addition to the fun of rearing these rabbits you also get to move your body from time to time.
I love watching them and appreciating the creativity and generosity of God. He created them unique just like every other of His creatures.

PSALM 104:24
Lord, you have made so many things! How wise you were when you made all of them! The earth is full of your creatures. Psalm 104:24 NIRV
And one of such creatures is rabbits.
I am privileged to show you one set of my baby rabbits at 21 days.
HOW BIG IS A 21 DAYS OLD RABBIT KIT?
Rabbits grow fast. At a day old they are so tiny and fragile but within a week the increase in size as a result of growth is so obvious.
Depending on breed you can expect your 21 days old litter (all the kittens together) to weigh as much as over one kilogram.
AVERAGE WEIGHT OF 21 DAYS OLD RABBIT
This litter I am showing today has four kittens and their combined weight is about 1.4kg. They are just four with the biggest weighing 410g and the smallest 210g. The average weight is 342g.
WHAT DO RABBIT KITTENS EAT AT 21 DAYS
At 21 days they are already feeding on what I give to the Doe that is their mother. The feed consists of pellets and leaves. The leaves I give are the ones that I get easily at minimal cost. They include the following:
Basil Scent leaves (Efirin)
Cassava leaves
Plantain leaves
Banana leaves
Waterleaf
Amaranthus (Yoruba Efo tete and soko)
Moringa leaves
Bitter leaf
Jute Mallow leaves (Ewedu)
Tridax leaves
Pumpkin leaves and stalk (Ugwu)
Sweet Potato leaves
Pawpaw leaves
Adequate supply of water
OTHER FEATURES OF RABBIT KITTENS AT 21 DAYS
Since the baby rabbits can feed on what the mother eats at 21 days; if left on their own they can lead their lives without mothers’ milk.
I like weaning them from their mother when they are at least six weeks old. At this time I move the doe to another cage.
I leave the babies in their familiar terrain and they do well.
At this age, they are very active and their fur is already standing up a little. They are now looking like normal adult rabbits.
