Although they are domesticated animals they still require abundant forage in addition to the compounded pellets to make them have a feel of life in the forest while living in a cage.

That is planting your own forage on available small backyard space using the rabbit poop and waste as manure.
The rabbit waste when mixed with the planting soil is an excellent fertilizer.
Forages can be planted as a single seed using only one type of seed or in combination that is two or more seeds together to fulfill the feeding needs of your rabbit.

1)Prepare your soil in the space you intend using mixing in rabbit poops and waste that you have been setting aside.
2)Get a cup of maize and a cup of Guinea corn. Pour into two separate larger bowls. Add water to cover the seeds. Leave in the bowl for between 12 to 24 hours. This is to hasten the sprouting of the seeds.
3)On the second day lightly dig the soil and spread the seeds close to each other alternating the maize (corn) and guinea corn seed. Since we are planting for forage you need a generous quantity of the seeds so that they grow closely together on the soil to form the forage.

You will get greater yield during the rainy season as you can replant every two months.
