Everyone desires a life of comfort especially if given to us on a platter of gold. Much as we desire it to be so; God did not design that we should have things in life without giving or forgoing something in return. God designed it such that there must be a seed time: that is the time we give; we let go and after sometime what we have given will return to us in the form of fruits for us to harvest. Our giving is treated as seed by God.

Jesus encourages us to give without restraint. We are to give everyone who asks; friends or foes and even to those who did not ask but are in need and we have the capability of providing that need.
God commands us to strengthen those with feeble hands. Hands that are exhausted and are not able to produce enough to sustain them for God says the poor will never cease from our land.
Jesus said “give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full; pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
When Jesus admonishes us to give; He did not limit it to money rather it extends to everything including forgiving others that may wrong us.
Consequences of not giving
When we refuse to give to God for Kingdom’s work or to people around us; our stream of blessings will become blocked with accumulated and outdated unusable assets. You will discover that your home will be clustered with so many loads that are of no comfort or benefit to you.
When the stream becomes blocked it cannot receive anything new because you have not made room in them to accommodate more.
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. In essence when we give we are actually sowing seeds of abundance for ourselves.
May the Spirit of God give us better understanding regarding giving and the blessings it attracts to us.
I pray God replaces our stony heart that is dead to giving with a heart of flesh that is compassionate and does not withhold from doing good for others.
“If we obey and follow Jesus instruction and the pattern He laid down for us then giving must become our lifestyle. When our giving becomes constant the returns will always be endless and it becomes CHANNELS TO streamS OF BLESSINGS that flow unhindered. Businesses should give back to society and it is called Corporate Social Responsibility”

When God blesses us we should not be hesitant in blessing others with part of what He has blessed us with.
What we receive from God is on trust because God trusts us and He is sending us on an assignment. We are to proclaim good news to the poor by providing for their needs in the best way God has equipped us to perform.
The richer we become in material resources and talents; the more God widens the circle of the people He expects us to minister to with the resources.
If you want more wealth then pray that God should open your eyes to see those in need that you can render assistance to.
What to do to enjoy a lifetime streams of blessings
Giving to God and others around us is a privilege. Not everyone who desires to give is so privileged because not everyone have enough to give as much as they would have loved to.
King David recognized this great privilege bestowed on him and he worshiped God and said “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given You.”

When we give to God or bless the poor and needy; it is like a loan to God and whoever gives to God will always get it back with interest.
It may not be in the exact form you gave it out but God will always open doors of favour to you at your time of need.
Lifestyle of Giving
So do not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time you will reap a harvest of blessing if you do not give up.

LUKE 6:38
In Luke 6 Jesus taught the congregation:
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
Even those you think are against you, give to them. Jesus went further to ask: and if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.
Give to those from whom you are not expecting pay back. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. Lifestyle of givingAs God’s children we should follow His example and the pattern of Jesus. You are to love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be acting as children of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Let us be merciful, just as our Father is merciful.
4) We are to give to God. Giving for the work of God, to the Ministers of the gospel and contributing our quota to our place of worship so it can remain functional for lost souls to run to.
5) Give to yourself. Do not hoard things without using them. God is blessing you to care for yourself, your loved ones and everyone around you.
Love yourself for without self love you cannot love others to understand their pain and need. Treat yourself and others the way you would have them do to you.
BIBLE VERSE LUKE 6:38
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”(Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
God wants you to first of all give Him your all; including yourself for the very life you have belongs to God.
Thereafter give whatever you have to the needy, the people of God, those that have devoted themselves wholly to the service of God, orphans, widows, widowers and anyone the Spirit of God impress upon your heart.Lifestyle of giving helping one another We all have something we can give; it does not have to be money, sometimes a little time to assist a sick person or the elderly could be worth more than money because what the person requires at that time is not money.
Don’t withhold your talents, use it. When we follow the leading of God; He will guide us to give the appropriate gift at every given opportunity.

PRAYER PETITIONS
1)Lord thank you for always blessing me with gifts including my life. Sow in me the spirit of giving generously.
2) Give me a better understanding regarding giving and the blessings it will attract to me. Give me the grace to be ready to bear the infirmities of the weak by rendering help to them.
3) Dear God, please replace my stony heart that is dead to giving with a heart of flesh that is compassionate and does not withhold from doing good for others.
PRAY FERVENTLY
4) Teach me and guide me to give right. Help me to give to the people you have assigned to me at the right time when it will actually meet their needs and dry their tears.
5) Provide for me Lord to always be a channel of blessings to others. Open my eyes to their plight and let me sensitive enough to take action.
6) As I give to others Lord develop in me an attitude of humility. Do not let me become puff up or taunt the poor. May I not be derailed from my assignment by unsolicited praise singers.
