OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO? (DAY 4)

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO LORD? DAY 4)

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO LORD?
Daily soul feast
day 4 NOVEMBER

Keep me from sinning against you deliberately Lord. The longer we are in fellowship with God the more we are in danger of falling into presumptuous sins.

This is because the gift of God doesn’t just vanish because we are using it wrongly.

That’s why you see Spirit filled children of God using the gift of God in their lives for their own selfish purpose and taking advantage of other weak, gullible and vulnerable children of God.
God said the Prophet which shall presume to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak or that shall speak in the name of other gods even that prophet shall die.

There are so many prophets speaking presumptuously that which God had not spoken. May you not become their victim in Jesus name. (Amen)

“Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.”

If you happen to fall into the category of those Prophets taking advantage of the spiritually weak children of God; God is giving you the opportunity to turn away from your evil ways. Desist from acts of disobedience in the name of the Lord.

To overcome presumptuous sins we should make it a habit to always ask “what shall I do Lord” before embarking on any action.

Our attitude should be “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

God is glorified when we trust Him with our life and we are willing to wait patiently for His directive through the Holy Spirit.

God loves it when seek clarification by asking “What shall I do Lord” before acting. It shows that we recognize His Lordship over our life.

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO LORD?

David always sought God for clarification before any action except on one occasion when he deliberately went into Bathsheba knowing full well it was against God’s command. But he did not bargain for the unpleasant chain of events that followed.

Even though he was God’s favorite the sword never departed from his home thereafter. God was sad and told him through Prophet Nathan “I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more”.

But then he had to suffer the consequence of his deliberate act all the days of his life. David only wanted a little pleasure with Bathsheba he didn’t bargain for the embarrassing pregnancy that led him to plan Uriah’s death.

Keep me from sinning against you deliberately Lord.

Many times we take God for granted; believing He will not mind if we act on His behalf or that He will validate our actions. God created us to depend on Him but when we begin to decide for Him we get into trouble.

PSALMS 19:13 AMP

Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous (deliberate, willful) sins; Let them not rule and have control over me. Then I will be blameless (complete), And I shall be acquitted of great transgression. Psalms 19:13 (AMP)

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO LORD?

Sometimes we meddle in affairs that are not ours thinking God will back us but God would not support what He did not authorize and as such we end up in a mess.

The Ephraimites loved meddling; looking for trouble without authorization from God.

God sent Gideon to battle but when he was returning victorious the Ephraimites went to bully him with the intention of causing him harm however Gideon pacified them with wisdom.

They did same to Jephthah when he was also returning from battle in which God gave him victory but they never bargained for what they got. Jephthah engaged them in battle and at the end of the duel the Bible records that 42,000 people were left dead. What a waste of lives! When we don’t seek the face of God before engaging in battle with the enemy the result is wasted lives and destinies.

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: WHAT SHALL I DO LORD?

In the same way we may face challenges from other children of God when we are doing the will of God but we should not let them distract or derail us from completing the assignment God has committed to us.

It is good to always seek the face of God before we act as sins committed willfully are acts of rebellion that comes with grave consequences.

That is why we should make the Psalmist prayer ours “Don’t let me do wrong on purpose, Lord, or let sin have control over my life. Then I will be innocent, and not guilty of some terrible fault.”

OVERCOMING PRESUMPTUOUS SINS: Always be ready to ask what shall I do Lord?

When you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; acknowledging Him in all your ways He shall direct your paths.
